2024 Summer Short-term Day Camps
TENTATIVE SCHEDULE AND DETAILS FOR YOUR SUMMER PLANNING PURPOSES
Short-term camps to help students keep up their skills and friendships at Rejoice while still giving them plenty of time to rest and have fun with their families
To families who did not participate in our Spring 2024 session: Please write us at rejoiceballet@live.com for questions about possible student involvement before registering your child.
Discounts for camps:
Sibling discounts:
- 10% will be offered to siblings for one camp when the first child participates in one camp.
- 20% will be offered to siblings for the second camp when the first child participates in a second camp. (The same will be true of a third camp.)
- 10% will be offered for all camps after the first one
FUN & FOUNDATIONS A CAMP
When Is It?
July 15, 16, 18, and 19, 12:00-1:30
Who is it for?
Beginning dancers, ages 6-8
(Dancers who have just taken Fun & Foundations B)
What will students do?
Students will learn to praise the Lord through ballet and learn fun crafts and games. They will participate in a little end-of-camp studio recital for the parents.

FUN & FOUNDATIONS B CAMP
When is it and who is it for?
July 15, 16, 18, and 19
for students ages 3-4, 10:15-11:45
What will students do?
Students will learn to praise the Lord through ballet and learn fun crafts and games. They will participate in a little end-of-camp studio recital for the parents.

LOWER COMPETITION/STRETCHING CAMP (BY INVITATION)
The students in this piece will prepare a piece that will be performed in a Spring 2025 competition PLUS enjoy a time of stretching/tumbling/and conditioning with the higher competition/stretching camp girls. Students will also share their piece with elderly folks at a local nursing home.
When is it?
June 24-27, 12:15-2:15
August 1, 2:10-3:30 (mixed with Upper Competition Camp)
August 2, 11:45-1:00 (mixed with Upper Competition Camp) AND 1:30-2:15, early afternoon practice at the studio with other outreach camp dancers (exact times TBD) and rehearsal/performance at Ashley Rehabilitation Center in Rogers--2:30-4:15.
Who is it for?
Students in Ballet 1-3 who have been invited to participate.
What will the students do during the camp?
Prepare choreography for the nursing home outreach and the Spring 2024 competition PLUS have a time of stretching/tumbling/conditioning with the Upper Competition camp on the first five days. On the last two days, the lower and upper competition camps will join together to have two final practices. On the last day, students will also attend a dress rehearsal and then perform at the Ashley Rehabilitation Center.

FUN & FOUNDATIONS C BALLET AND JUNIOR DRAMA CAMP
When Is It?
July 22-July 27
Who Is it for?
All junior musical theater dance and Fun & Foundations C students
What will students do?
Students will take a short ballet class each day and then work on a musical theater dance for a shorter, Christian version of Sound of Music.
FURTHER DETAILS: Pricing and times will be available after we hold an audition on May 4 after the Saturday mandatory run through. (They will both be dependent on how often the child will need to attend--based on the roles they earn). A $25 non-refundable deposit will be due before the audition. (This deposit is intended to be put toward the camp payment).
OUTREACH PERFORMANCE/STRETCHING CAMP A
Students will learn and share choreography that directly shares elements of the Good News with elderly folks at a local nursing home... and will also work on stretching/tumbling/conditioning.
When is it?
JULY 29, 30, 31, AUGUST 1 (9:50-11:45)
AUGUST 2 (MIXED WITH OLDER PERFORMANCE CAMP): at the studio--1:00-2:15; at Ashley Rehabilitation Center in Rogers--2:30-4:15

Ballet 1
Ballet 2 Bronze
What will the students do during the camp?
Students will learn and share choreography that directly shares elements of the Good News with elderly folks at a local nursing home. For the last part of classes, they will also combine with Outreach/Stretching Camp A to work on stretching/conditioning/and tumbling the first four days of the camp.
Day 1: Learn choreography for up to two dances. Also, work on stretching/conditioning/and tumbling.

Students will rehearse from 2:45-3:20 and perform and spend time with the residents until around 4:15. Parents pick up their students from the nursing home afterward.

Students who are at the level of BALLET 4/5
What will the students do during the camp?
Prepare choreography for the nursing home outreach and the Fall 2024 or Spring 2025 competition PLUS have a time of stretching/conditioning. They may also join Lower Competition camp for rehearsals in August and perform at the Ashley Rehabilitation Center.

COMPANY DRAMA CAMP
When Is It?
July 22-July 27
Who Is it for?
All company musical theater members and honors junior theater
What will students do?

SUMMER STUDENT-LED SEMI-PRIVATES AND PRIVATES
Ballet 4/5 students will teach technique and a short dance to students one or two at a time. (Students who are currently taking student-led privates may be able to continue with their current teacher). This is an add-on option. All students taking student-led privates MUST also attend at least one other camp.
When Is It?
Upon student's registration, the director will call the parents to set up five half-hour appointments that a student-teacher can teach. The student who wants to perform at Ashley Rehabilitation Center with our outreach camp should also be available for an August 2 afternoon time rehearsal and performance. (Students not available for the August 2 performance may still participate but at the same price).

What will students do?
Students will learn a duet that will be performed alongside their student-teacher or a solo--and then rehearse and perform that dance at Ashley Rehabilitation Center on August 2.

Set of semi-privates rehearsal/outreach performance: $83
