Classical Ballet Division
Ballet 1, ages 7-9 Students at this level perfect a set technique syllabus at a high beginning level as well as learn parts for our fall or spring production. Students are required to attend classes twice a week. A stretching, conditioning, and tumbling class is also required on the days they attend class.
Ballet 2, ages 9-12 Students at this level perfect a set technique syllabus at a high beginning/low intermediate level as well as learn parts for our upcoming fall or spring production. Students typically come into the class with 1-2 years of experience. Students are required to attend classes twice a week. A stretching, conditioning, and tumbling class is also required on the days they attend class.
Ballet 3, ages 10-14 Students at this level perfect a set syllabus at an intermediate level as well as learn parts for our upcoming fall or spring production. Students who are accepted into this class must have side extensions at shoulder height, both splits, arabesque at 90 degrees or above, arched feet, and the ability to keep up with choreography. Students are required to attend two 1 1/2 hour classes a week plus weekly pointe classes. Students typically come into the class with at least 3 years of experience. A stretching, conditioning, and tumbling class is offered three times a week, which students at this level are required to take twice a week.
Ballet 4, ages 12-18 Students at this level perfect a set syllabus at an advanced level as well as learn parts for our upcoming fall or spring production. Students are required to attend two one-and-a-half-hour classes a week plus weekly pointe classes, and an hour-long private that includes pointe work. Students typically come into the class with at least 4 years of experience. A stretching, conditioning, and tumbling class is offered three times a week that students at this level are required to attend twice a week and are encouraged to attend three times a week.
Musical Theater Dance Division
Junior Musical Theater Dance, ages 8-12 Students in this division prepare and perform in our fall and spring productions. Students learn and perform character dancing ensemble roles, theatrical dancing, ballet, (sometimes) partnering, and stage acting. They may also participate in singing roles. All students are expected to perfect a set ballet syllabus at a high beginning level. Students are expected to attend regular weekly classes, plus attend several preset combined rehearsals with the senior musical theater students.
Senior Musical Theater Dance, ages 12+ Students in this division prepare and perform in our fall and spring productions. Students learn and perform character dancing ensemble roles, theatrical dancing, ballet, (sometimes) partnering, and stage acting. They may also participate in singing roles. All students are expected to perfect a set ballet syllabus at a high beginning level. Students are expected to attend regular weekly classes, plus attend several preset combined rehearsals with the junior musical theater students.
Merge This level is for senior musical theater dance students with a higher aptitude for ballet and company ballet students who graduate from Ballet 2 without meeting the stiff requirements to enter Ballet Level 3. Students in this program attend the senior musical theater rehearsal time, either beginning or intermediate pointe, and the last part of the intermediate class where they will learn the intermediate curriculum and a special group dance and/or special roles for the ballet production.
