                     2023 SUMMER SHORT-TERM DAY CAMPS

Short-term camps to help students keep up their skills and friendships at Rejoice while still giving them plenty of time to rest and have fun with their families

Registration and payment are due on June 1, 2023. After that, the prices of the camps will increase.
   

To families who did not participate in our Spring 2023 session: Please write us at rejoiceballet@live.com for questions about possible student involvement before registering your child.

Discounts for camps: 
    Sibling discounts:
  • 10% will be offered to siblings for one camp when the first child participates in one camp.
  • 20% will be offered to siblings for the second camp when the first child participates in a second camp. (The same will be true of a third camp.)
    Multiple camp discount (only for students without participating siblings):
  • 10% will be offered for all camps after the first one
        (All discounts are taken from the less expensive camps first).


FUN & FOUNDATIONS A CAMP

When Is It?
July 10, 11, 13, and 14, 1:15-2:45


Who is it for?
Dancers, ages 3-5

What will students do?

Students will learn to praise the Lord through ballet! Besides dance, students will also enjoy tumbling, crafts, and games. They will participate in a little end-of-camp studio recital in which the students will perform dance pieces for the parents.0

FUN & FOUNDATIONS B/C CAMP

When Is It?
July 10, 11, 13, and 14, 10:15-11:45


Who is it for?
Beginning dancers, ages 5 1/2 - 8

What will students do?
Students learn to praise the Lord through ballet! Besides dance, students will also enjoy tumbling, crafts, and games. They will participate in a little end-of-camp studio recital in which the students will perform dance pieces for the parents.

SUMMER STRETCHING, TUMBLING, AND CONDITIONING


When Is It?
12 select Tuesdays and Thursdays, 12:00-12:55 pm
  • June 27 and 29       
  • July 11 and 13   
  • July 18 and 20 
  • July 25 and 27   
  • August 1 and 3  
  • August 8 and 10

Who is it for?
All dancers, ages 6+

What will students do?


In this course, dancers will gain strength and flexibility specifically needed to excel in ballet, as well as learn and improve acrobatic movements that are occasionally used in story ballets and contemporary choreography. Students may attend all sessions or just drop in when they don't have other plans.

How much will it cost?
$130 for the summer


OUTREACH PERFORMANCE CAMP A
This is an opportunity for students to learn and share choreography that directly shares elements of the Good News with elderly folks at a local nursing home.  (Note: If the CDC counts COVID rates high, those entering the nursing home will be required to wear masks upon entering and when getting up close with the residents. Dancers would not be required to wear masks while dancing or while standing at least 6 feet from the residents.)

When is it?
JULY 25, 26, and 27 (4:10-5:45)

JULY 28 (MIXED WITH OLDER PERFORMANCE CAMP): at the studio--1:00-2:15; at Ashley Rehabilitation Center in Rogers--2:30-4:15

Who is it for?
Students who participated in these programs in Spring 2023:
          Junior Musical Theater Dance  
          Ballet 1  All Levels
          Ballet 2 Bronze

What will the students do during the camp?
Students will learn and share choreography that directly shares elements of the Good News with elderly folks at a local nursing home. 

Day 1: Learn choreography for up to two dances. 
(Take breaks for games)
Day 2: Perfect choreography that was learned on Day 1.
(Take breaks for games)

Day 3: Rehearse learned choreography from 1:15-2:15. At 2:15, parents drive their students to Ashley Rehabilitation Center to rehearse. Students will rehearse from 2:45-3:20 and perform and spend time with the residents until around 4:15. Parents pick up their students from the nursing home afterward.

           Ballet 2 Silver and Gold
           Senior Musical Theater

What will the students do during the camp?
Day 1: Learn choreography for 1-2 dances. (Take breaks for games)
Days 2 and 3: Learn and perfect choreography. (Take breaks for games)
Day 4: Rehearse learned choreography from 1:30-2:15. At 2:15, parents drive their students to Ashley Rehabilitation to rehearse. Students will rehearse from 2:45-3:20 and perform and spend time with the residents until around 4:15. Parents pick up their students from the nursing home afterward.


How much will it cost?

PRE-PROFESSIONAL OUTREACH PERFORMANCE CAMP
The students in this piece will prepare a piece that will be performed in a Spring 2024 competition. Students will also share this piece with elderly folks at a local nursing home.
(Note: If the CDC counts COVID rates high, those entering the nursing home will be required to wear masks upon entering and when getting up close with the residents. Dancers would not be required to wear masks while dancing or while standing at least 6 feet from residents.)

When is it?
JUNE 20, 1:00-4:00
JUNE 23, 1:00-4:00
JULY 24, 1:00-4:00
JULY 26, 1:00-4:00
JULY 28, early afternoon practice at the studio with other outreach camp dancers (exact times TBD) and rehearsal/performance at Ashley Rehabilitation Center in Rogers--2:30-4:15.

Who is it for?
Students who were at this level in these programs in Spring 2023:
           Ballet 3/4

What will the students do during the camp?
Days 1-3: Learn and perfect choreography
Day 4: Rehearse choreography at some time between 1:30-2:15. At 2:15, parents drive their students to a nursing home to rehearse. Students will rehearse from 2:45-3:20 and perform and spend time with the residents until around 4:15. Parents pick up their students from the nursing home afterward.
