During the spring session (starting in January), our dancers in ALL levels except Wiggles and males in company ensemble who prefer not to attend ballet classes) participate in our exams, which are at our BALLET OLYMPICS (date and time TBA). Dancers in each level will seek for a bronze, silver, or gold medal, depending on their dance level determined by their teachers. Dancers who are seeking a bronze medal only need to learn the curriculum that is presented in their technique classes. Dancers who are seeking a gold medal will need to not only take their regular technique class but also take a minimum of 4 20-minute privates to learn a solo for the exam. Dancers who are seeking a silver medal will need to to not only participate in their regular class schedule but must also take a minimum of 4 20-minute semi-privates to learn a duet or trio for the exam. 4 20-minutes privates are $47 total; 4 20-minute semi-privates are $26 total per student (when learning a duet); or $20 total per student (when learning a trio). There are no sibling rates for special dances.
ONE-TIME PER SEMESTER PRODUCTION FEE (Due August and January):
To help us cover the cost for the venue for dress rehearsals, costume usage and props, and the payment of faculty for special rehearsals, dress rehearsals, media work, and performances. REJOICE SCHOLARSHIPS: We currently offer financial scholarships to lower income families through a local charity. We sometimes also offer work scholarships. Please inquire via email if you would like to know more about these opportunities.
ATTENDANCE POLICY: Students who participate in our RCBT/curriculum classes must keep up regular attendance in order to participate in our performances and Olympics testing. (While we do not encourage absenteeism, Fun and Foundations and Musical Theater dancers may miss each of their curriculum classes once a month, and Foundations/Intermediate may miss their curriculum class twice a month.) Students who are absent more than that will likely be asked to take a private lesson at the regular rate in order to catch up with the other students in their class.
POLICY FOR SNOW/EMERGENCY MAKEUP DAYS: If we are not able to provide classes because of inclement weather, an emergency, faculty illness, etc., we will provide a make-up day, the date of which is determined at the beginning of the semester. (Please check the current Dates to Remember Page to find this session's snow/emergency makeup day.). Families who cannot make the makeup day will not receive a refund but are free to attend another class of equal or lesser value (if it is available) within 60 days while they are still signed up for their regular classes.
MAKING PAYMENTS: Families are welcome to bring their payments with them (via check) to the studio on or before tuition due dates and put them in the tuition box in the observation room. They can also pay on our website under the tab "ONLINE PAYMENT OPTION." If parents are late in paying their tuition, they will be charged a $5 late fee per child or a $10 maximum late fee per family. Parents should think of scheduled tuition payments as part of a yearly tuition broken up into monthly payments. Whether the child comes to classes or not, tuition will be due each month until the end of the session or until the child drops out of classes. Exceptions may be granted in particular situations such as unforeseen illnesses and other emergencies. (Please see Kim about these).
RBA REFUND POLICY: We do not give refunds for classes, products, or services unless we cannot provide what we have shared above.
